Sarah Jo partners with skaters to help achieve their goals through individualized
instruction, emphasizing both art and sport. With a focus on edge-work positions aiding the strength of all aspects of skating, she attains to facilitate a strong foundation for a skater finding their unique voice and longevity in their craft. Her accolades include being a U.S. Nationals medalist, a former International Team member, and an eight-time medalist at the World Figure and Fancy Championship. In addition to offering lessons to all levels singles, pairs, or moves in the field, more specifically she is available for choreography, element trouble-shooting with figures, and power improvement.
Standard Lesson Rate: $90/ hour
Kaylee is part of the US Figure Skating Association and Learn to Skate USA. She has a decade of experience teaching group lessons and has taught Introduction to Private and private lessons to students of all ages. She has been a member of CVSC for 14 years. She has passed her Gold Skating Skills and Gold Free Skate. She is continuing to a new path in skating by learning Ice Dance. She holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and is attending graduate school at the University of Vermont to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She has competed in Gold/Senior ladies at the Collegiate level throughout the Northeast. In addition, she has multiple years of competitive experience with CVSC. She is excited to grow as a coach with aspiring skaters of all ages and skill sets.
Standard Lesson Rate: $50/ hour
Jillian is a member of US Figure Skating and Learn to Skate USA and serves as the Director of the Vermont Skating Academy, a Learn to Skate USA program at the Essex Skating Facility. As a competitive skater, Jillian competed at the New England Regional Championships at the Silver level. She has passed the U.S. Figure Skating Pre-Gold Free Skate, Fifth Figure, and Pre-Silver Dance tests. With more than 36 years of coaching experience and over 45 years as a member of the Champlain Valley Skating Club (CVSC), Jillian currently serves as a member of the CVSC Board of Directors and as the club's Professional Liaison. As Director of the Vermont Skating Academy, Jillian oversees the academy's team of Learn to Skate instructors while focusing her own coaching on skaters pursuing U.S. Figure Skating tests and competitive goals. She is committed to helping athletes develop strong technical skills, confidence, and the dedication needed to achieve their individual goals. Her students have successfully progressed through the U.S. Figure Skating testing structure, including achieving Gold-level testing in Skating Skills and Singles, earning medals at regional competitions, and the Excel National Final.

Jessica is a member of US Figure Skating and Learn to Skate USA. She grew up figure skating with CVSC, and as a competitive member of Vermont Children's Theatre on Ice (VCTI). As a skater, she has passed her Gold Skating Skills, and Pre-Bronze Singles tests, and had the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally with VCTI. With over 20 years of experience coaching both children and adults, Jessica's goal is to share her love of skating with students of all ages. While not at the rink, Jessica can be found hiking with her dog, or reading a book in the sun. While coaching is her "fun job”, she is also the Controller of Howard Center.

Erin has over 25 years of a variety of roles in the figure and recreational skating worlds. A former member of Disney on Ice, coach and skater with Vermont Children’s Theater on Ice in the early 2000s: she has passed her Gold Skating Skills, Pre-Silver Freestyle, Pre-Gold Pattern Dances and Fifth figure tests. Erin has taught USFS learn-to-skate and private lessons to skaters of all ages throughout Vermont and at Wollman Rink in NYC. She especially loves wild ice skating on the frozen lakes and ponds when nature provides, and sharing the simple joy and thrill of skating with students of all ages.
Standard Lesson Rate: $64/hr
Maggie is a member of the US Figure Skating Association and Learn to Skate USA. She grew up figure skating competitively in Massachusetts, and continued skating at the collegiate level in synchronized skating. She has passed her Pre-Silver Skating Skills test, her Preliminary Singles test, and her Pre-Preliminary Ice Dance tests. In addition to her role as a CVSC Board member, Maggie continues to compete in Adult Bronze events and with the CVSC Adult Theatre on Ice team, On Thin Ice. Maggie brings her experience as a Speech Language Pathologist and educator to her group and individual lessons to skaters of all ages.
Standard Lesson Rate: $50/hr, Intro to Private Lessons $40/hr
Martha is a Master rated professional in Figures, Freestyle, Moves in the Field/Skating Skills, Group and a Registered rated professional in Team. She has passed her 8th Figure Test, Senior Freestyle Test, Silver Dance Tests and has 50 years of coaching experience. Her students range from children to adults, and include both recreational and competitive skaters. Her students have medaled at Regional, Sectional, Junior National, Adult National, Collegiate Nationals, and World Figure and Fancy Skate competitions. Her students have passed through all levels of Figures, Moves/Skills and Freestyle tests. Martha also has experience in Theater on Ice, Ice show Production and Ensemble Choreography.

2017 World Figure Silver Medalist, World Figure Hall of Fame Inductee plus Gold Medal Status in Dance, CFSC Dance, Figures, Freestyle, Free Dance, Moves in The Field, PSA Rated Registered MIF & FS, Power Hockey Level 2. As a coach, Jennifer’s objective is to encourage her students to set goals and achieve their dreams. She instills a sense of diligence and dedication as well as the joy of skating through creativity. Plus every summer Jennifer takes skaters to Lake Placid for a training camp. Jennifer coaches all levels and abilities. She does have some lesson slots still open.

Julie MacDonald is a member of United State Figure Skating and Learn to Skate Programs and has her background check done. She has passed the ISIA Preliminary Figure 1 Test, ISIA Freestyle 4 test. The US Figure skating Preliminary Moves in the Field test, Preliminary Freestyle test, and Preliminary dances.
She teaches group lessons for the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department and the Essex skating Academy. Julie has taught private and group lessons for the past 46 years. She is available to teach all ages from three years old through adults and has some slots still open for this new season.
Rate: $28 per 1/2 session
Patricia is a Gold Medalist and specialist in ice dance. She coaches all levels of partnered and solo ice dance (including International) and free dance – as well as Moves in the field/Skating Skills for individual skaters. Her students have competed and medaled at Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships, New England regional and Eastern sectional competitions, and Adult National and solo dance competitions, and her teams have placed in the top six at Junior National Championships. She is eager to share her love of ice dance, and her passion for helping both competitive and recreational skaters improve their skating skills and presentation.
Beyond the rink, Patricia is Professor Emerita with the Rubenstein School at the University of Vermont.
